By downloading or using ScreenFold ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
ScreenFold is a macOS menu bar utility that monitors your MacBook's lid angle sensor and automatically mutes system audio and/or dims the display when the lid is tilted past a configurable threshold. It reverses these actions when the lid is raised back up.
The App requires macOS 14 or later on a MacBook with a lid angle sensor (Apple Silicon MacBook Pro 14"/16", MacBook Air M2 or later). It will not function correctly on unsupported hardware.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ScreenFold on any Mac you own or control, for personal use. You may not:
ScreenFold is distributed on a pay-what-you-want basis via Gumroad. Payment processing is handled entirely by Gumroad and subject to Gumroad's Terms of Service. We do not process or store payment information.
There are no subscriptions. A download is a one-time acquisition. Future versions are not guaranteed, but updates are provided at our discretion for no additional charge.
Because you can verify hardware compatibility before paying (see requirements on the website), we generally do not issue refunds. If you have a genuine issue, contact us and we will consider it on a case-by-case basis. For purchases via Gumroad, you may also contact Gumroad support directly.
EU consumers: You have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right from the date of purchase. To exercise it, contact us at the address in Section 9 before the 14-day period expires. This right does not apply if digital content has already been delivered and you confirmed you waive the right upon download.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We make no guarantees that:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Appsolute Oy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to unintended muting, dimming, or failure to mute/dim audio or display.
Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.
These Terms are governed by Finnish law and applicable EU regulations.
Consumers may bring disputes in the courts of Finland or their country of residence within the EU/EEA. Finnish consumers may also contact the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) free of charge. EU consumers may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
